Senior Research Technician (Part-Time, EEG)
-------------------------------------------
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Technician to
be part of an ambitious and pioneering experimental research programme
on mother-infant brain-to-brain synchrony. You will join a dynamic new
infant neuroimaging lab headed by Dr Victoria Leong in the Department of
Psychology, University of Cambridge.
Your primary responsibility will be to set up, optimise and maintain a
new state-of-the art, mobile (wireless) dual-EEG system for simultaneous
neuroimaging of adults and infants in a naturalistic setting. You will
provide day-to-day technical support to members of the research team,
and you will also be required to provide assistance during EEG
experimental sessions with mothers and infants. The lab has a strong
focus on methods development and new technologies. Consequently, we seek
an individual with a sound technical background and attention to detail,
as well as an interest in methodological innovation.
You will have at least an HNC or equivalent level qualification in a
biomedical or engineering subject. Previous experience of working in a
biomedical or biosciences laboratory is preferred. Practical experience
of using EEG with adults and/or children is highly desired.
The salary for this post will be £27,057-£32,277 pro rata, and
appointment will be on a part-time basis (0.5 FTE) for 1.5 years.
The closing date for applications is 1 Nov 2015. Interviews will be held
during the week of 9 Nov 2015, and the post will begin on 4th Jan 2016
or as soon as possible thereafter. Informal enquiries may be directed to
