Dendrites 2014
International Workshop on Dendrites
Heraklion, Crete, Greece.
July 1-4, 2014

Dendrites provide the substrate for inter-neuronal communication and 
their nonlinear properties play a key role in information processing. 
This Workshop brings together scientific leaders to present their 
research on dendrites, at the molecular, anatomical and biophysical 
level. The main meeting (July 1 - 3, 2014) will be followed by a day of 
soft skills targeted at advanced PhD students and early postdoctoral 
researchers (July 4, 2014).

Invited speakers for the main event include:

Susumu Tonegawa (Nobel Laureate)
Angus Silver
Tiago Branco
Alcino J. Silva
Michael Häusser
Julietta U. Frey
Stefan Remy

For the soft skill session (July 4th), Kerri Smith, Nature podcast 
editor, is going to present on communication and dissemination of 
scientific results.  Alcino J. Silva (UCLA) will present his recent work 
on developing Research maps: tools for integrating and planning research 
in Neuroscience.

  * Abstract submission opens: late January 2014.
  * Abstract submission closes: early March, 2014.
  * Notification of abstract acceptance: late March 2014.
  * Notification of oral/poster presentation: early April 2014.

One of the authors has to register for the main meeting as a presenting 
author. Accepted abstracts will be presented as posters or orals. In 
case an abstract is not accepted for presentation, the registration fee 
will be refunded.

We are working with collaborators to make travel funding available for 
selected students and post-doc participants.
