we are inviting applications to fill a 2-year full-time post-doc position in our team in collaboration with the Associated Institute for Geometric Optimization and Machine Learning (Prof. Kleinsteuber, www.gol.ei.tum.de). The project will research mechanisms of hearing in rooms with psychoacoustical approaches. Further, methods will be developed for extracting and using room acoustic information from microphone recordings using techniques of machine learning. The position is suited for a post-doctoral researcher intending to expand their knowledge in binaural hearing psychoacoustics & binaural models, room acoustics, and machine learning techniques. The appointment is full time for an initial duration of 2 years and available immediately.
We offer you to join a recently founded, dynamic, interdisciplinary team, to work with up-to-date technical equipment and to extend your skills in advanced methods of hearing research. Our close interaction within the Bernstein Centre for Computational Neuroscience Munich (www.bccn-munich.de), the Hearing Research Network Munich (www.imetum.tum.de/hoeren/), and the EuroTech GreenTech Initiative (www.eurotech-universities.org) as well as our extensive cooperation with industry and with local and international scientific partners creates an attractive environment with excellent perspectives for personal development.
Munich - the city famous for the Oktoberfest, high-end cars and its unique location to the Alps - is a bustling, international and interesting place to live which offers a wide range of opportunities to engage in cultural and leisurely activities - from opera to skiing.
The employment is according to the state employees salary scheme (TV-L/E13) and is (initially) limited to a fixed duration of 2 years. Women are explicitly encouraged to apply. Severely handicapped persons will be favoured if they are equally qualified. In principle, the position could also be filled in part time.
I am looking forward to answering your questions on the phone (+49 89 289 28282, after my return from CIAP on 24 June) or by email. Please send your application (cover letter stating research interests, CV, list of publications) preferably by email no later than 15 August 2013 to:
