A postdoctoral position in visual and cognitive neurophysiology is available in
the laboratory of Nicole Rust at the University of Pennsylvania.

Research in the laboratory is focused on understanding how visual information
about a currently viewed scene is combined with cognitive information to
achieve a specific goal, such as finding a particular object. One current focus
of the lab is on understanding how the brain flexibly switches between different
targets and/or tasks through the integration of visual and working memory
signals. Our research group uses a variety of methods, including behaving
primate neurophysiology and theoretical approaches, to develop accurate yet
conceptually simple descriptions of the computations performed by single
neurons and neural populations. More information about the lab can be found
here: http://www.sas.upenn.edu/psych/rust-lab

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or a
related field prior to starting. Essential qualifications include experience
with extracellular neurophysiology or a comparable technique and strong
quantitative skills. Start dates are flexible. To apply for this position,
please submit a CV and a brief statement of research interests to
nrust at psych.upenn.edu.
