PhD Position at the University of Göttingen in Computational Neuroscience /
Retinal Neurophysiology

A PhD position is available in the research group of Prof. Tim Gollisch at
the University Medical Center Göttingen, Germany. The work is in the area of
Computational Neuroscience and Retinal Neurophysiology and includes
recordings of light-evoked responses from neurons in the isolated retina as
well as mathematical modeling and analysis of the acquired data. Basic
mathematical knowledge and computer programming skills are desired. Prior
experience with experimental techniques is not required, but the willingness
to learn is - as well as strong motivation for combining experimental and
theoretical tools to neuroscience questions.

For information about the research group see http://retina.uni-goettingen.de.
The group is also part of the Bernstein Center of Computational Neuroscience
Göttingen (http://www.bccn-goettingen.de/) and of the SFB 889 "Cellular
Mechanisms of Sensory Processing" (http://sfb889.uni-goettingen.de/). For
more information or to apply, please send an email to Prof. Tim Gollisch
(tim.gollisch at med.uni-goettingen.de) and include a CV, contact information
for two references, and a statement about your motivations and research
interests.
