Registration is open for ACIB 2011, the 1st Annual Conference on Integral Biomathics:

What elephants? The ones right in the middle:
if computers can emulate anything does that mean they are all that is necessary to create aware (living?) systems?
is Turing-based computation/information processing all that there is?
what's the difference between living and non-living systems?
what's (if anything!) is missing that would be needed to create aware systems

(These are the issues that the EU flagships ignore!)

The conference will take place at the University of Stirling, Scotland, 29-31 August 2011. The meeting is part of the EU INBIOSA Support Action.
