An NIH-funded postdoctoral position available immediately in the laboratory of sensorimotor integration at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (http://cortex.umaryland.edu). The research project focuses on central mechanisms of chronic pain, and invloves extracellular and intracellular recordings from brain slices, optogenetics, computational and neuroanatomical approaches.
Appointments are for two years, with an option to renew. One project focuses on the role of the rodent motor cortex in controlling voluntary movements. Qualifications include a Ph.D. or equivalent in a related field and published evidence of experience in advanced whole-cell recordings from brain slices.
The laboratory is strongly committed to the professional development of its postdoctoral fellows. Salary and benefits are commensurate with NIH guidelines. Start date is flexible, but an early start date is strongly preferred.
