Applicants are invited for a postdoctoral position in the field of 
neural engineering with the focus on functional electrical stimulation.

The successful applicant will perform research in the fields of 
electrical stimulation, animal in vivo experiments, signal processing, 
and programming, in the frame of the European project TIME.

The particular goal of the project is the evaluation of selective 
electrical stimulation strategies. The postdoctoral scientist will 
contribute to study the possibility to select specific neural fibers 
within a nerve by controlling stimulation profiles and using different 
types of electrode designs. He/she will collaborate within an 
interdisciplinary team of researchers whose expertise spans computer 
science, microelectronics, automatic control and neurophysiology with 
the goal of performing selective electrical peripheral stimulation.

The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree, or equivalent, in 
Biomedical Engineering with an emphasis on Neurophysiology. Programming 
will be part of the project. Candidates with the experience in ENG 
recording and analysis and / or FES will be preferred.

The work will be performed at the Robotics Lab of Montpellier (LIRMM, 
Montpellier, France) in the Research Group DEMAR. The work is within an 
ongoing collaboration with UAB, Barcelona, Spain and will imply frequent 
traveling to Barcelona for short stays in order to perform animal 
experiments.

The position is open for one year. Salary is commensurate with 
experience and the position carries a full social security and health 
coverage.
