plans to make 3-5 PI appointments in Computational Biology at the beginning
of the 2009-10 academic year. Depending on a candidate's experiences, the
rank is open and salary is negotiable. Applicants using computational or
mathematical models and/or data analyzing approaches are encouraged to
apply. All areas in addressing an enormously broad range of biological and
medical priorities such as disease mechanisms, pharmaceutical drug
discovery and drug target validation etc. will be considered, that include
but not limited to bioinformatics and genomics, cellular and molecular
biology, computational neuroscience, and systems approach to biomedical
science. The appointee will be expected to develop a rigorous research
program, with some teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels. The
appointment requires 9 months per year commitment to Fudan University.
Applicants should apply through email to jianfeng.feng at warwick.ac.uk. The
positions will be open until filled. Applications should include a
curriculum vitae (including bibliography), a brief statement of research
and teaching interests, and copies of representative scholarly papers.
Candidates should also arrange for three letters of reference. Fudan
University is one of the leading institutions in China and is located in
one of the most dynamical cities in the world: Shanghai. With substantial
supports from Chinese government, Fudan University aims for becoming one of
the international players, in particular in the area such as Computational
Biology.
