SCHOLARSHIP FOR A PhD STUDENT (Massey University, Auckland)
A PhD student is sought for a research project that aims at
understanding the complex behaviour of the respiratory neural network by
using recently developed numerical methods, called "equation free" (EF)
techniques. The student will work with Drs Alona Ben-Tal and Carlo Laing
at the Institute of Information and Mathematical Sciences at Massey
University, Albany campus, Auckland. The work is in collaboration with
Prof Yannis Kevrekidis (Princeton University, USA) and Dr Jeffrey Smith
(National Institutes of Health, USA), and the student will have the
opportunity to visit the USA.
Salary (funded by the Marsden Fund): $25,000 pa scholarship (tax free)
