[Comp-neuro] spontaneous activity patterns and network architecture

Dear colleagues,

I am glad to announce the publication of the paper "On how network
architecture determines the dominant patterns of spontaneous neural
activity" in PLoS One:

Along the lines of previous studies, we have modeled spontaneous network
activity as a stochastic, multivariate linear process, which allows us to
show the relationship between the principal components of the spontaneous
activity and the network architecture. The spontaneous activity simulated
this way resembles the celebrated phenomenon of cortical songs. In addition,
the equivalence between the principal components and the attractors of the
spontaneous activity is demonstrated.
