We will have a postdoctoral opening at the department of Mathematical Sciences
at the Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis. This is a one year position
supported by the collaborative research grant from the Indiana University
(extension may be possible), starting as soon as possible. The project is devoted to
the analysis and modeling of neural activity recorded intraoperatively from basal ganglia
and thalamus in patients with Parkinson's disease. The project is aimed at the understanding
of the dynamics of the basal ganglia-thalamocortical network (with the further focus on
new strategies for therapeutic deep brain stimulation) and involves people from
the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Neurosurgery of the Indiana
University School of Medicine. The postdoctoral fellow should have strong quantitative
skills in data analysis and modeling and a strong interest in neuroscience applications.
While experience in applied dynamical systems/nonlinear time-series analysis/neuroscience
would be a plus, this is not a necessary requirement.

Interested individuals may inquire me at lrubchinsky at math.iupui.edu. Please feel free
to send your CV and ask for two informal reference letters to be e-mail to my address.
