[Comp-neuro] Postdoctoral position in Munich, Germany

The Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience (BCCN), Munich 
(Germany)
invites applications for a position in networking in Computational 
Neuroscience (postdoctoral level).

The applicant’s main task will be to participate in the design and 
realization of a web-based plat-form for the exchange of data, models, 
algorithms, and tools between different groups working in Computational 
Neuroscience at the BCCN. This connecting platform, which should adhere 
to OECD standards, will be jointly established together with the other 
BCCN centers in Berlin, Freiburg and Göttingen.
The four Bernstein Centers for Computational Neuroscience (BCCN) have 
been established with the support of the German Federal Ministry of 
Education and Research (BMBF). The national initiative aims at achieving 
major breakthroughs in understanding brain function by the interac-tion 
of experimental and theoretical neuroscience. Further goals are 
biomedical and technical applications. Scientific groups from various 
disciplines (biology, medicine, psychology, physics, engineering, 
informatics) study the neuronal mechanisms underlying brain function by 
combining experimental, modeling and mathematical approaches.

The successful candidate with a background in physics, mathematics or 
computer science should have experience in web-based database 
applications, programming skills, and a strong interest in Computational 
Neuroscience. Besides his/her background he/she is expected to have 
excellent communication abilities.

Initially the position is limited to two years, extensions possible.
